NURSE KATE

 

Introducing Kate Maidment, a Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) with over five years of experience in managing all types of diabetes within the hospital setting. Kate obtained her Bachelor of Nursing from Western Sydney University and further specialised by completing a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management at the University of Technology Sydney. 

What sets Kate apart is her unique perspective, having been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 13. This personal experience, combined with her professional expertise, allows her to deeply understand and relate to the challenges faced by those managing diabetes. 

Kate is dedicated to guiding individuals through their diabetes journey with comprehensive support and education. Her approach is rooted in a blend of personal insight and extensive professional knowledge, empowering patients to manage their diabetes effectively and lead fulfilling lives. 

At 32, Kate's journey has encompassed managing diabetes through various life stages, from academic pursuits and professional sport to global travels and motherhood. Her extensive experience enables her to offer practical advice and empathetic support tailored to each individual's needs. 

Kate is committed to delivering top-tier education and guidance to help individuals navigate their diabetes management with confidence and competence. Whether newly diagnosed or managing diabetes for years, patients can rely on Kate for expert advice and compassionate support every step of the way. 

DIETITIAN KATE

 

Kate (Katharine) Jones is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) and Accredited Exercise Physiologist dedicated to transforming lives through personalised diabetes management. With a Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management from the University of Technology Sydney, she brings over 10 years of specialised experience to her practice.

Throughout her career, Kate has worked extensively in both hospital and private settings, guiding individuals with all types of diabetes to understand their condition and take practical steps toward optimal health. Her approach goes beyond traditional dietetics, focusing on empowering clients to achieve sustainable lifestyle changes. She believes in a holistic approach that considers nutrition, physical activity, and overall well-being.

Kate is passionate about demystifying complex health information, translating it into straightforward, actionable advice that fosters confidence and motivation. As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, she integrates exercise science with nutrition to offer comprehensive diabetes management strategies. Her aim is to help individuals see food as both fuel and enjoyment, emphasising delicious, nutritious choices that support overall health.
